The Kirkwood
Wild in Art

A Wild in Art event brought to you by The Kirkwood.

Local radio station at the beating ‘Heart’ of Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees

Thousands of radio listeners across the county choose to listen to Heart Yorkshire each day, be it on their commute to work, in the office or when unwinding at home. We’re thrilled to announce that Heart, the most popular commercial radio brand in the UK,  has joined the Snowdog pack as the official media partner ahead of this year’s highly anticipated art trail.

One of the goals of Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees is to get the public outside and exploring our beautiful part of the country, discovering the many hidden gems our towns and villages have to offer. This is what makes the art trail such a perfect event for Heart to get involved in.

Heart say their listeners are a sociable bunch, who juggle their busy day-to-day lives but always aim to make the most of their free time in rewarding ways, including treating themselves to some retail therapy, taking on new adventures and spending time with loved ones. Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees ticks all of those boxes and more, guaranteeing a great day out for listeners up and down the country!

This isn’t the first time Heart has stepped up to support a charity art trail here in Yorkshire.  Just last year the broadcaster became the media partner for Bears of Sheffield – which goes to show that public art trials really are an initiative which companies hope to get involved in time and time again.

As media partner, Heart will be helping to generate a buzz for the art trail through on-air and website promotion, encouraging visitors from far and wide to come to Kirklees for this one-of-a-kind event. There’s lots of fun activities in the pipeline as we head closer to the trail launch date, so keep your eyes peeled on our website and social channels to see what we’ve got planned.

Heart Yorkshire’s drive presenters Dixie & Emma (pictured) said: ‘We’re really looking forward to spotting the Snowdogs across Kirklees! The Kirkwood does incredible work and we’re really pleased to be supporting such a fun and artistic venture that will benefit the whole community.’

Inspired by the much-loved animated film, The Snowman™ and The Snowdog, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book and film The Snowman™, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will bring the magic of The Snowdog character to life through an extraordinary public art trail.

Organised by The Kirkwood in partnership with Wild in Art and Snowman Enterprises Ltd, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will be a free large scale art event and will show off the very best creative talent from local, regional and national artists. As part of this one of a kind public art event in West Yorkshire, businesses are being given the opportunity to sponsor one of the individually designed Snowdog sculptures. This presents businesses with a unique and exciting way to promote their business throughout the local area.

The trail will help raise awareness and essential funds for The Kirkwood as they continue their work to help and support those living with a life limiting illness in Kirklees, while encouraging visitors from far and wide to explore new parts of our region.

Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will launch in September 2022.
