A Wild in Art event brought to you by The Kirkwood.

Locala continue working partnership with The Kirkwood, signing up as Event Sponsor for the Snowdogs art trail

Health and wellbeing service provider, Locala, has worked in partnership with The Kirkwood for many years now, collaborating with the Kirklees-based charity to support clinical staff and the wider community. The relationship sees the two teams transfer skills and knowledge, working side-by-side to offer the best care for members of the community who are living with a life limiting illness.

Locala Health and Wellbeing will be continuing their longstanding association with the charity in 2022 and is excited to become an event sponsor for the much anticipated Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees art trial which launches in Autumn. Becoming an event sponsor was a natural fit for the healthcare provider, enabling Locala to use the art trail as a way to raise awareness of their own essential services and the vital role they play within the community. As part of their sponsorship, Locala will adopt a Snowdog sculpture. Designed and hand-painted by a talented artist, Locala’s Snowdog will feature on the main trail throughout the eight week event.

Karen Jackson, Chief Executive at Locala, comments: ‘We chose to get involved in the Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees campaign as we want to support a valuable, integrated system partner. We also felt it was important to use this opportunity to support our collegues and give them further recognition for the work they do out in our community on a daily basis. Working in conjunction with The Kirkwood, we deliver end of life care across our district and are incredibly proud to partner with such a fantastic charity which holds a special place in the hearts of so many people.

‘We are particularly interested in the trail themed weeks, such as wellbeing and health, as there is great potential for us to share important health advice and reach members of the community who might not yet be aware of the services both ourselves and The Kirkwood offer.’

Inspired by the much-loved animated film, The Snowman™ and The Snowdog, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book and film The Snowman™, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will bring the magic of The Snowdog character to life through an extraordinary public art trail.

Organised by The Kirkwood in partnership with Wild in Art and Snowman Enterprises Ltd, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will be a free large scale art event and will show off the very best creative talent from local, regional and national artists. As part of this one of a kind public art event in West Yorkshire, businesses are being given the opportunity to sponsor one of the individually designed Snowdog sculptures. This presents businesses with a unique and exciting way to promote their business throughout the local area.

The trail will help raise awareness and essential funds for The Kirkwood as they continue their work to help and support those living with a life limiting illness in Kirklees, while encouraging visitors from far and wide to explore new parts of our region.

Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will launch in September 2022.
