Lovell Homes has become the latest sculpture sponsor of The Kirkwood’s Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees art trail, which will see Raymond Briggs’ much-loved canine character come to life through an interactive display across the local area.
The national house builder has signed up to sponsor one of the trail’s large sculptures, and will work closely with one of our artists to put their own special stamp on one of our spectacular giant Snowdog sculptures. Although not based in Kirklees, Lovell Homes is building a number of new properties in the area, and is keen to engage with the local community to broaden their reach, as well as demonstrate their support for The Kirkwood.
Lovell Homes will also be sponsoring a Snowdog pup for a local school, which will see children coming together to create their very own miniature sculpture. The creative learning project will promote collaborative working and creativity among pupils – and is set to be lots of fun for children and teachers alike.
Robert Adams, Regional Managing Director at Lovell Homes, said: ‘We’re proud to be part of this amazing art trail that’s taking place around the surrounding villages in Kirklees, and we can’t wait to see the incredible designs the artists have created.
‘This campaign is a great initiative that really brings communities together at a time when they need it most. It aligns perfectly with what we aim to do through our Lovell Homes developments, helping to raise awareness and funds for an organisation that’s at the heart of the area. We look forward to supporting The Kirkwood with this project and beyond.’
Inspired by the much-loved animated film, The Snowman™ and The Snowdog, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book and film The Snowman™, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will bring the magic of The Snowdog character to life through an extraordinary public art trail.
Organised by The Kirkwood in partnership with Wild in Art and Snowman Enterprises Ltd, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will be a free large scale art event and will show off the very best creative talent from local, regional and national artists. As part of this one of a kind public art event in West Yorkshire, businesses are being given the opportunity to sponsor one of the individually designed Snowdog sculptures. This presents businesses with a unique and exciting way to promote their business throughout the local area.
The trail will help raise awareness and essential funds for The Kirkwood as they continue their work to help and support those living with a life limiting illness in Kirklees, while encouraging visitors from far and wide to explore new parts of our region.
Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will launch in September 2022.
